Here at Strategist, we like to think we’re crazy about what we buy (in a good way), but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. That’s why we have People’s Choice, where we find the best-reviewed products and choose the ones that make the most sense.        While we’ve written about a variety of kitchen gadgets—from rice cookers and bread makers to milk frothers and drip coffee makers—here we’ve rounded up the best water heaters on Amazon, according to Insider.
This vacuum insulated water dispenser is made by the same century-old Japanese company that makes our favorite water bottles, and has over 400 5-star reviews. “Making tea is less labor intensive than boiling water,” wrote one reviewer. “No more waiting for the water to boil and then wondering how long to let the water cool before pouring it out. Just set the temperature you want and press Guess. just make the tea, press the button, let it soak in, and you’re off to the races.” With four temperature settings and the ability to make “ramen noodles, hot chocolate, or anything else that requires hot water,” it’s no surprise to this user that this is the most practical countertop appliance ever made.”
Others called it “nice and durable” and praised its insulation: “If we unplug it for a few hours, the water will usually still be hot when we return.” Another reviewer said: “This product far exceeded my expectations. It’s easy to remove.” to use, looks great, heats up quickly and maintains a good temperature even when unplugged or moving from one location to another.”
Even though it’s cheaper, it’s still a high-quality water heater, and one reviewer said theirs “lasted 12 years.” Likewise, this reviewer says, “If you want hot water ready all day long, get this kettle. It’s a workhorse because we’ve been using it every day for years and it still works. Just keep it clean and use it every time. descale it from time to time one of these days and it will last for many years.” Others praise its accuracy and convenience, as this owner said: “It boils water quickly and keeps it at 194 degrees. Easy and much better than putting the kettle on. a pot of water on the stove every time you want a cup of tea. It looks great and works great.”
Like the top-rated Zojirushi model, this water heater has four heat settings and a timer setting. What sets it apart, however, is the transparent window, which reviewers say “makes it easy to check the amount of water in the tank” and “allows you to see when the unit needs topping up.” Plus, the dispenser “plays a funky note” when the water reaches the set temperature. “This thing is always hot and provides hot water at the touch of a power button,” one reviewer wrote, while another added, “Having clean hot water at the touch of a button is incredibly convenient.”
Coffee lovers say the dispenser’s slow drip mode is “nice so you don’t spill too much” when you’re ready to pour a cup, while others say the feature “comes in handy.” Especially when you make delicious coffee, or slowly pour water over good tea.” One reviewer called the dispenser a “huge time saver,” saying it was “well made, well designed, and very convenient in any kitchen.” Many reviewers found it to be “functional and beautiful.”
For getting hot water straight from the tap, this “very nice unit” was “pretty easy” to install, with many reviewers noting the “very simple directions.” One very passionate fan raved: “Without my InSinkErator instant hot water faucet, I would never have had a kitchen sink! Always having hot water on hand is such a wonderful pleasure. And another reviewer said they “couldn’t.” “I can’t live without one of these,” and they liked that this one “always delivers hot water smoothly, steadily and quietly” compared to other “spray” models.
“If I had known how convenient it was to have very hot water on demand, I would have bought a water dispenser years ago,” one reviewer wrote about this less expensive but still beloved under-sink system. One regular customer said, “This is my third or fourth time in 25 years,” and liked that “the water was well below boiling point and there was plenty of it.” Another fan wrote: “It’s so easy to install and so easy to work with. You’d be surprised how many uses it has.”
This “sleek yet simple” water dispenser is a compact version of the larger freestanding water dispenser, “small enough to fit on a table or countertop without being too bulky.” One reviewer said: “Cold water is cold, water is hot.” and is perfect for making hot drinks on the go,” wrote another reviewer. “It is very well built and worth the money!” It’s also portable thanks to its convenient size: “What’s great is that it can be easily moved. in different areas of the house,” said one reviewer. “Mine usually sits in the kitchen, but on summer evenings I often take it out into the backyard for parties.”
